VOLUNTEER BALLOON CHASE CREW TRAINING

You say "I have never done that before". Not a problem! Crew training sessions are open to all volunteers. This will expose you to different systems, techniques and safety aspects of ballooning. Pilots from the Plano Balloon Association will provide information in a classroom lecture, question/answer format. This will be followed a few days later with an actual early morning launch experience if weather permitting.

CLASSROOM LECTURE LAUNCH EXPERIENCES:
Every crew volunteer must have attended one Ground School class and one subsequent Launch/Retrieve class during the previous three years.
  • Ground School Class # 1
  • Launch/Retrieve Class (aka: hands-on)
    • Plan On: August 23rd (Saturday Morning), times for these sessions will be announced at the ground scool class. Hint: it will be very early in the morning
    • Location: The Rookie Hands-On Training Class will meet outside the north enterance of the SouthFork Hotel. You must be on time as we plan on leaving shortly thereafter for a yet-to-be-determined launch site.
